Good things take time

Welcome to the weekly warble here at Ideanthro Movement.

This week I'm going to be talking about how when it comes to movement, good (and advanced) things take time.

Too often the fitness industry promises too much, too fast. The simple reality is that our bodies take time to adapt. When we give it that time, and with consistent high quality effort, amazing things are possible.

Take this video of Adrian for example. Adrian is not naturally flexible. He's probably a little bit the opposite in fact. Yet, through consistent work over the past 6 to 12 months he's well on his way to being able to lower into a bridge. That's no mean feat for someone in their late 20's with no gymnastics or circus experience.

So here's the moral of the story. If something ambitious appeals to you, set it as a goal for yourself, no matter what it may be. Find yourself high quality coaching and establish a consistent practice over the medium to long term. Great things will happen.

Cheers

Jack
